“We experience things in life that make us discover who we are - Gabriele Muccino explains about the movie – “Summertime” is one of these experiences. It’s a summer you will remember, that you will long for, you keep dreaming about it and you hope to live again. A summer that has defined you and the next one you will live”
Marco is 18, just graduated from high school and has no idea about his future. Maria, “the nun”, is a girl from the same school, just graduated, that Marco considers pedantic and conservative. A common friend and an unexpected event will bring them together to San Francisco, where Matt and Paul are waiting for them. The two American boys are a couple who faced the difficulties of growing up in New Orleans, in the homophobic Louisiana. This is a coming of age tale and a story of love found in unexpected places, but it is also the story of four young people who, despite coming from different worlds, will discover just how much they have in common. In helping each other to realize their dreams, they will discover the truth about their own.
